DESCRIPTION:This adaptation of Yaël Farber’s A Woman in Waiting reimagin
 es the deeply personal and political narrative to focus on Black femme fra
 gility and the reclamation of softness. With four performers sharing the s
 tage\, the production expands the original one-woman format into an ensemb
 le piece that intertwines collective and individual experiences. The adapt
 ation allows Black femmes to confront the inherited and lived traumas that
  stem from systemic oppression. The story follows Lindelwa\, as she yearns
  for her mother as she experiences childhood in her grandmother’s home a
 nd the pain of disillusionment that comes with witnessing your parents be 
 victims of oppression. By revisiting the stories of our mothers and grandm
 others\, the adaptation honours the pain and sacrifices of previous genera
 tions while envisioning a liberated future generations of black femmes whe
