DESCRIPTION:Saccades\, the solo project of Nicholas Wood — one half of th
 e acclaimed electronic duo The KVB — returns with the new album Golden D
 ays\, released on 2nd October 2026. Influenced by music from across the gl
 obe\, Golden Days draws particular inspiration from crate-digging discover
 ies: obscure psychedelic music and rare soul records from the 1960s and 
 ’70s. The album also takes cues from contemporary artists including Air
 \, Khruangbin\, Darkside and Jack J. A strong sense of hauntology runs thr
 oughout the record\, particularly in its atmospheric effects\, hypnotic lo
 ops and woozy production. These elements also nod towards Wood’s early s
 olo project Die Jungen\, while the album’s deliberately hazy character c
 reates the feeling of a half-forgotten dream. Lyrically\, Golden Days is r
 omantic and introspective\, leaning into the outsider perspective that has
  remained a constant across all of Wood’s musical projects. It is the mo
 st laid-back Saccades record to date\, placing deep bass grooves at the fo
 refront while making greater use of shimmering acoustic guitars than previ
 ous releases. “Golden Days was influenced by music from across the globe
 \, but particularly by digging through obscure psych and rare soul records
  from the ’60s and ’70s\,” explains Wood. “There is a big hauntolo
 gical feeling to the album\, especially in the use of effects and loops\, 
 which is also a nod back to my early solo project Die Jungen. The producti
 on has a more deliberately hazy feel this time\, giving it the atmosphere 
 of a half-forgotten dream.” Wood introduced Saccades in 2017 with a self
 -titled debut album\, departing from the dark\, driving soundscapes of The
  KVB to embrace stripped-back psychedelic melodies\, bedroom-pop intimacy 
 and vintage-inspired songwriting. The project’s follow-up\, Flowing Fade
 s\, arrived in April 2021 and was accompanied by a UK tour. On the album\,
  Wood expanded the Saccades palette by incorporating elements of yacht roc
 k and vintage synthesizers while maintaining the project’s relaxed\, car
 efree character. Saccades returned in 2023 with Land of the Hearth\, a mor
 e electronic and Balearic-leaning record that retained the blissed-out qua
 lities for which the project had become known. The album wove together sun
 -soaked atmospheres with subtle undercurrents of tension. In 2025\, Wood u
 nveiled a series of Saccades singles\, including “Sightseer” and “Gr
 eek Fire”\, exploring a more lo-fi pop direction with pronounced hauntol
 ogical influences. Blending woozy\, nostalgic production with an ethereal 
 and introspective core\, these tracks laid the foundations for the immersi
