DESCRIPTION:14+\n\nGreg Broussard p.k.a Egyptian Lover\, is a pioneering hi
 p-hop musician\, producer and DJ.\n\nRevered as a master of the Roland TR-
 808\, in 2024 he celebrates four decades of pushing drum machines\, synthe
 sizers and turntables to their limits while imbuing hip-hop beats with the
  spirit of funk and the spark of electro.\n\nBroussard first stepped on st
 age as a DJ\, playing across LA alongside Ice-T with hip-hop crew Uncle Ja
 mm’s Army before beginning his recording career in 1982. Drawing influen
 ce from the electric energy of Prince and the futurism of Kraftwerk\, he r
 eleased visionary singles like ‘Egypt\, Egypt’ and ‘Freak-A-Holic’
  that merged electrofunk and hip-hop\, quickly becoming staple cuts for DJ
 s across America.\n\nContinuing to release a series of LPs throughout the 
 ‘80s and ‘90s before taking a break from the music scene\, he made a r
 eturn in the new millennium\, releasing an anthology on the cult hip-hop l
 abel Stones Throw\, performing dates with M.I.A. and reaffirming his reput
 ation as an innovative artist and an electrifying performer: he’s since 
 put on acclaimed live performances and DJ sets at some of the most coveted
  venues and festivals in the world\, as well as releasing several viral Bo
 iler Room moments.\n\nEgyptian Lover released a new album ‘1985’ in 20
 18\, along with the follow up LP ‘1986’ in 2021 on his long-running la
 bel Egyptian Empire\, both to critical acclaim. Since these releases\, he 
 has continued to treat fans to a variety of electrifying singles and remix
 es\, while bringing his unique hybrid live performance - featuring his cov
