This is the second of three Lady Mais ery Big Sing weekends in 2026\, our signature group singing courses that t ake place on the hilly outer-edges of Sheffield and also in vibrant Camden Town in London. The course is focused on big group singing\, learning som e great harmony songs and enjoying ourselves. On this weekend we’ll eat delicious home cooked food\, enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings and experience the joy of singing together. What we’ll be doing We invite si ngers of all abilities to stretch themselves\, discover something new\, ga in more confidence and\, most importantly\, have a lot of fun. We have bee n running singing weekends and week-long courses over the past decade and they are incredibly popular. With well-being\, good food and a friendly ap proach at the centre of the weekend\, participants should expect to sing l ots within the safety and big sound of a group. We never ask anyone to sin g on their own and aim for everyone (however experienced or not) to get so mething out of the workshop. Songs are taught by ear\, with lyric sheets w here needed. The material will be in three part harmony and the songs eith er will be from our Lady Maisery repertoire or other songs we’re excited to share! Each singing weekend is a little different and on our big sings we focusing on the pure joy of singing in a big group! The weekend will i nclude activities such as: thorough physical\, breathing and vocal warm up s\, learning rounds and simple songs\, learning some bigger more complex g roup songs in glorious three part harmony and having a go at improvisation in an inspiring and supportive atmosphere. Rough schedule We’ll meet on Friday night for some informal singing\, and we’ll finish with tea and cake at 3pm on Sunday. We start at 10am on Saturday and Sunday\, and on Sa turday night we'll have a banquet together\, followed by an 'open-stage' w here participants can get up to share a song\, a poem\, a turn of some kin d if they wish - this is always a highlight of the weekend. We will send a more detailed timetable nearer the time of the course Venue The venue is the Underbank School Room\, a beautiful hall with stunning views of the Lo xley valley where we have run many singing courses before. The space is on e main hall with a kitchen\, and then a garden you can relax in\, weather permitting. There is a garden around the chapel for use during break times\, or whenever anyone wants to step outside. Cancellations If you should need to cancel your ticket at any time\, our policy is that if we can fill the pl ace we can offer you a full refund (we usually have a decent sized waiting list). If it’s not possible to fill the place\, we’ll still issue the refund if it’s more than a calendar month before the weekend\, a half r efund if it’s more than two weeks in advance\, but unfortunately we can ’t offer a refund if it’s within two weeks of the event and the place can’t be filled.
