 painful2remember\, for another five tracks of post-punk noise. This time t
 he influence of the shoegaze scene beautifully illustrates the evolution o
 f the Brussels-based band\, providing a saturated backdrop where introspec
 tion justifies the explosion.\n\nAt an average age of 22\, the "leaderless
 " band has matured and gained considerable distance from their hybrid iden
 tity as neo-urbanites "between forest and pavement." The carefree spirit o
 f Class Craic is now behind them\; Stonks fully embraces its loss of light
 ness and darkens the atmosphere. Confronted\, albeit reluctantly\, with th
 e end of innocence\, the quartet maintains the tension and gains depth\, a
 lways well supported by the soaring brass of indispensable trumpeter Mathi
 s Jeanne\, who\, depending on the mood\, either plays a distorted death kn
 ell or evokes cinematic melancholy.\n\nLike many of their illustrious pred
 ecessors\, Stonks has dived into the eternal well of existential doubt\, a
 nd with this new EP\, they venture to highlight contrasts\, embrace ambiva
