 t operated in downtown Lafayette from 1986 to 1999. The Artists' Alliance
 \, as the name implies\, was created entirely by artists for artists\, spe
 cifically those who felt they didn't fit into the traditional scene at the
  time. But how did they do it? What does it take to create a grassroots or
 ganization from the ground up that lasts for almost 15 years? From grants
