 Kenny Wheeler Prize winning Tom Barford and his quintet as they play an ex
 citing set of original compositions alongside some new arrangements of his
  favourite tunes by the greats of jazz. Some of which include Freddie Hubb
 ard\, the late great Wayne Shorter and John Coltrane. Joining Tom will be 
 the incredible James Copus on trumpet. Since his quintet was last here Tom
  has changed the rhythm section which now include East Side regulars Will 
 Barry \, Conor Chaplin and Tim GilesTom has slowly been making his presenc
 e known on the global jazz scene with his well received debut album releas
 e Bloomer and with his co-lead album AuB\, both released on the Edition Re
 cords label with a new AuB album in the pipeline. Previous performance hig
 hlights for Tom have included Ronnie Scott’s with Billy Cobham\, multipl
 e performances at the Royal Albert Hall\, album launches at Kings Place\, 
 and multiple international tours as a sideman.James Copus is an award-winn
 ing musician who is rapidly establishing himself as one of the most exciti
 ng trumpet players anywhere on the jazz scene. Having grown up in a musica
 l household\, James took to music at an early age and started playing trum
 pet at the age of eight years old. He attended the junior Jazz course at t
 he prestigious Royal Academy of Music before going on to study there full-
 time and graduated with first class honours. During his time at the Academ
 y\, he became a proud recipient of the distinguished Derek Watkins award.J
 ames studied with the likes of Till Bronner\, Gerard Presencer\, Alex Sipi
 agin and Steve Fishwick and cites all four as major influences on his play
 ing. James has had the privilege of recording and playing with some of the
  world’s most established musicians including Dave Holland\, Joe Locke\,
  Tim Garland\, Stan Sulzmann\, Gareth Lockrane\, Laurence Cottle\, Jim Har
 t\, Clark Tracey\, Curtis Stigers and many more.Expect a mixture of tenor/
