 esents an evening of Joplin & Jazz featuring soprano Neema Bickersteth pe
 rforming songs by Scott Joplin - including selections from his opera Tre
 emonisha - alongside an inventive fusion of jazz\, opera\, and art song.\
 nThe program is inspired by Joplin’s musical legacy\, exploring his blen
 ding of musical styles in Treemonisha and inviting listeners to enjoy Ne
 ema’s own modern melding of jazz and classical singing. \nA triple-thre
 at singer\, dancer\, and creator\, Neema Bickersteth has been called “el
 ectrifying” (San Francisco Chronicle)\, “supernally gifted” (Vancouv
 er Observer)\, “an incredible performer” (The Guardian). Neema makes h
 er Manitoba Opera debut this November in the lead role (Treemonisha) in S
