DESCRIPTION:京都国際舞踏祭は、桂勘を案内人として、世
 界各地で息づく舞踏の現場を紹介してきました。 今回
 の第4回京都国際舞踏祭では、それぞれが自らの土地の
 歴史、文化、風土を背負った60を超えるダンサーたちが
 、経験豊かな音楽家や照明家とともに集います。そこ
 では、ダンスよりも前に存在するもの――まだ名を持
 たない何か、そして古都・京都だからこそ立ち現れる
 何かとの出会いへと、皆さまを誘います。ぜひ、「光
 を着こなす」ダンサーたちの「影」に目を凝らしてい
 ただきたい。 そして、国内外 47 の地域から集うダンサ
 ーたちとともに、私たちが生きるこの世界で起こり続
 けている出来事、その鼓動を体験していただきたいと
 思います。 2028年、舞踏の創始者・土方巽の生誕100年を
 迎えます。舞踏は、その創始者である土方巽が切り拓
 いた精神的な高みへと、手を伸ばさずにはいられない
 、抗いがたい宿命を内に抱えています。 皆さまとこの

 as\, with Kan Katsura as its guide\, introduced audiences to the living la
 ndscapes of Butoh unfolding across the world. The 4th Kyoto International 
 Butoh Festival brings together more than 60 groups of dancers\, each carry
 ing the histories\, cultures\, and particularities of the places from whic
 h they come\, alongside seasoned musicians and lighting artists. Together\
 , they will invite us into an encounter with something that exists before 
 dance—something unnamed\, something that can emerge only here\, in the a
 ncient city of Kyoto. We invite you to look closely at the “shadows” o
 f dancers who know how to “wear light.” And we invite you to experienc
 e\, alongside dancers gathered from 47 regions across Japan and around the
  world\, the pulse of events unfolding in our shared world. In 2028\, we w
 ill mark the centenary of the birth of Tatsumi Hijikata\, the founder of B
 utoh. Butoh carries within itself an inescapable destiny: the need to reac
