 es:“Lyric Baroque Ensemble is a newly formed string ensemble dedicated t
 o bringing the vibrant sound world of the seventeenth and eighteenth centu
 ries to modern audiences. Inspired by historically informed performance pr
 actice\, the ensemble seeks to capture the expressive depth\, elegance\, a
 nd vitality of Baroque music through stylistically informed playing\, with
  particular attention to rhythmic vitality\, tonal colour\, and rhetorical
  expression.“Making its concert debut in September 2026\, Lyric Baroque 
 Ensemble presents programmes that celebrate both well-loved masterpieces a
 nd lesser-known gems from the Baroque repertoire. Bringing together experi
 enced musicians with a shared passion for early music\, the ensemble is co
 mmitted to performances that combine artistic excellence with engaging\, t
 houghtful musicianship.“Lyric Baroque Ensemble looks forward to establis
 hing itself as an exciting new presence in the early music community.”Tr
 ish Calnan started to play the violin at the age of eleven and studied at 
 the Royal Academy of Music with David Martin. She won many scholarships an
 d prizes and continued her post graduate studies first in Freiburg\, Germa
 ny with Wolfgang Marschner\, and later with Helen Airoff-Dowling in Switze
 rland and London. Helen remains the formative influence on Patricia’s ph
 ilosophy of teaching. In 1980 Patricia won the Mozart Memorial Prize and p
 erformed extensively both as leader of the Trio Zingara and as a soloist a
 t the Royal Festival Hall\, Barbican\, Wigmore Hall\, and Queen Elizabeth 
 Hall\, collaborating with such eminent conductors as Sir Charles Groves\, 
 Lord Menuhin\, Ivan Fischer and James Loughran.Patricia led the Lyric Quar
 tet to great critical acclaim\, following their debut recital in 1991\, to
 uring extensively with them in the UK and Europe. She toured worldwide wit
 h Sir Neville Marriner as a member of the Academy of St Martin in the Fiel
 ds.Throughout her career she could be heard regularly on Radio 3 and her d
 iscography includes the Brahms Sonatas and works by Dohnányi\, Ross Edwar
 ds\, Herbert Howells\, Glazunov\, Ginastera and Rimsky-Korsakov.Ashburton
