DESCRIPTION:- Sally Ironmonger & Brian Carter have been writing and perform
 ing together for two decades. They have produced four studio albums of son
 gs about shipyards\, prostitutes\, trips to the seaside\, self-deprecating
  amusing songs and protest anthems. Based in Medway\, Kent\, they write co
 ntemporary folk songs\, with a nod to traditional themes. Sally describes 
 their work as "modern folk songs\, telling stories and making social comme
 nt\, making people laugh as well as think".Brian has worked as a professio
 nal and semi-professional musician all of his adult life and has developed
  a style which fuses jazz\, folk and Latin to produce a unique mix of melo
 dy and bass rhythms.Over the years\, the duo have written commissions for 
 BBC documentaries and Broadstairs Folk Week\, and have supported artists i
 ncluding Belshazzar’s Feast\, Barbara Dickson\, Jacqui McShee\, Chris Wo
 od and Jez Lowe. They also won the Milkmaid Folk Club Folk Song competitio
