 – November 26–28\nDue to high demand and a sold-out Part One in Februa
 ry\, capacity for this training has been expanded. Early registration is e
 ncouraged.\nWhile described as an advanced applications training\, this is
  not a move into technique\, nor a departure from foundations. Rather\, it
  is an extension of them.\nThis two-and-a-half–day training opens with a
  keynote address by David Epston (joining from New Zealand via Zoom) and 
 serves as Part Two of the Certificate Program in Contemporary Narrative Th
 erapy.\nWhile it follows Foundations in Contemporary Narrative Therapy: Th
 eoretical Foundations\, it has been intentionally designed to stand on its
  own as a meaningful and rigorous experience.\nThose continuing from Part 
 One will deepen the conceptual and ethical ground established there. Those
  joining for the first time will be welcomed through structured teaching t
 hat situates clinical practice within contemporary narrative therapy.\nPar
 ticipants may complete the certificate by attending both trainings in any 
 order.\nThis training is intended for therapists at all levels who are see
 king a more thoughtful\, ethically grounded\, and practice-oriented engage
 ment with narrative therapy.\nContemporary narrative therapy does not begi
 n with technique—it begins with a particular understanding of the person
 \, relationship\, and ethical responsibility.\nIn Part One\, we asked:\nWh
 o is the person in narrative therapy?\nIn Part Two\, we ask:\nWhat becomes
  possible in practice when we take this question seriously?\nThis training
  is devoted to the clinical life of narrative therapy.\nRather than focusi
 ng on methods\, it examines how therapeutic conversations are shaped by th
 e therapist’s orientation to the person\, to story\, and to the effects 
 of their actions.\nClinical work will be engaged through transcripts\, liv
 e interviews\, and therapeutic documents\, including letters and poems tha
 t extend conversations beyond the session.\nA Map of Client Authorship\nTh
 is training does not offer a map of what the therapist should do.\nMany ap
 proaches organize practice around therapist action or technique. These con
 tributions are significant. At times\, however\, they leave less clearly a
 rticulated how authorship becomes available to the person themselves.\nHer
 e\, we begin elsewhere.\nWe offer a map of client authorship—one that in
 tegrates practice and moral inquiry while focusing on how people participa
 te in shaping their lives.\nThis map traces a movement:\n\n\nfrom global d
 escriptions where authorship is suspended\n\n\nto experience-near accounts
  of what a person is up against\n\n\nto the emergence of their own actions
  and responses\n\n\nto an explicit engagement with values and moral positi
 oning\n\n\nto deliberate\, ethical authorship taken up on purpose\n\n\nThe
  task of therapy\, then\, is not to move through steps\, but to participat
 e in conversations that make authorship visible\, ethically grounded\, and
  available to be taken up on purpose.\nIn this training\, participants wil
 l be invited to:\n\n\nExamine how their understanding of the person shapes
  clinical decisions\n\n\nEngage deeply with clinical material\, including 
 transcripts and live demonstrations\n\n\nDevelop practices of listening th
 at attend to complexity and unfolding storylines\n\n\nWork with therapeuti
 c documents (letters and poems) to extend conversations\n\n\nEngage moral 
 inquiry as it emerges within lived responses to life\n\n\nReflect on their
  participation in shaping the stories people come to live by\n\n\nWhether 
 continuing from Part One or joining for the first time\, this training off
 ers a rigorous engagement with contemporary narrative practice—grounded 
 in its ethical foundations while opening new clinical possibilities.\nPres
