DESCRIPTION:This 2-part group education course is for first time parents wh
 o are birthing their baby at Mercy Hospital for Women\, Heidelberg. \nBoth
  sessions are held onsite at Mercy Hospital for Women\, Heidelberg and aim
  to provide you and your support person with professional childbirth educa
 tion.\n\nOur midwifery educators will provide information on a variety of 
 topics such as:\n- Labour stages & signs\n- Coming to hospital\n- The impo
 rtance of support in labour - what can they do!\n- Coping with labour at h
 ome & in the hospital (including medical options)\n- When assistance is re
 quired for labour & birthing \n- Understanding breastfeeding\n- The early 
 weeks with a newborn (safe sleeping\, settling)\n- Recovery post birth \n-
  Supports in hospital & community for the new family\n\nTimes: 9am - 1.30p
 m \nSessions: 10 & 17 October 2026 \nLocation: Onsite at Mercy Hospital fo
 r Women\, 163 Studley Rd\, Heidelberg\n\n- 1 ticket is for 2 people (Birth
 ing parent +1 support person) to attend both classes. \n- Book classes to 
 START between 27-32 weeks pregnancy\n- Please ensure you use the pregnant 
 person's name when you book\n- You must provide your Mercy Hospital for Wo
 men (Heidelberg) Medical Record Number to book in.  We will check that you
  are booked in to have your baby at MHW. \n- You will receive a confirmati
 on email from Trybooking once you have booked. \n\nPayments & Refunds\n- E
 ach family is eligible for ONE ticket only.  This includes the pregnant pe
 rson + 1 support person.\n\nMedicare card ticket - FREE - when pregnant pe
 rson:\n- is booked to birth as a public patient at MHW\n- has a valid Medi
 care card (or eligible for reciprocal rights)\n\nNo Medicare card ticket -
  $220 when pregnant person\n- is booked to birth as a private patient at M
 ercy Hospital for Women AND does not have Medicare card\n\nCancelling / Re
 scheduling\n- If you need to reschedule your class\, please CANCEL your bo
 oking on the TRYBOOKING site\, then rebook into another course.  PLEASE en
 sure you cancel to enable someone else to take the spot. \n- If you can't 
 make one of the booked sessions we are unable to offer a 'make-up' class f
 or the one you miss.  We are able to provide further written resources.\n
