LOCATION:Twisted Pole - Pole Dancing Lessons DESCRIPTION:Silky Floor Social is a community art & dance social event\, a imed at anyone who loves to dance on the floor. The event is a floorwork j am\, where attendees have access to the event space for socialising\, crea ting\, practicing\, collaborating\, taking photos/videos and taking part i n arts activities. The event aims to bring local humans together with a sh ared interest\, with the event facilitating the socialising\, creative pra ctice\, movement and performance in a private space\, at what ever level o f physical and social capacity attendees choose to. SFS was created by a q ueer dancer\, pole dancer\, teacher and performer - Jane Silk. Although ai med predominantly towards the pole community\, any kind of style/expressio n of dance - e.g. self-taught\, spicy\, pole\, contemporary\, jazz\, comme rcial\, hip-hop\, cabaret\, burlesque\, drag…any combination of dance st yle lover - is welcome here. Generally\, any human who likes to move aroun d the floor with their body to express themselves. The cross-over of dance styles\, can create beautiful expressions\, connections and appreciation for other human beings and art forms. We are multidimensional beings who d eserve to express what suits us\, with respect and desire to learn with op en minds.This edition of Silky Floor Social has been created to bring folk s together who may have been a part of or watched Silky Art Showcase the n ight before\, allowing space to put inspiration into movement\, talk about the show and meet other performers and movers in one space together in a low-pressure environment.
