 ristensen as a standout  basketball coach\, James Abbott's prowess in wres
 tling\, Sophie Kurys for her baseball magic\, and two local football legen
 ds\, JC Dawkins and Sam Veit. The Deep Roots Award goes to the Hammes Fami
 ly\, a family fundamental to the success of Racine Sports. Proceeds from t
 he event go to support the Racine Heritage Museum and our mission to colle
 ct\, preserve\, and share the special stories of the people of Racine Coun
