 club at the bookshop\, where we examine what Britain's queer and trans pas
 t can offer us in the present moment. Joining historian Sam Rutherford for
  a discussion about queer and trans history and what we can do with it. Sa
 m will share some of his thoughts\, and there will be plenty of time for o
 pen discussion about what queer and trans history mean to you and how you 
 see the role of the past in today's queer and trans political movements. T
 his reading group is a special edition\, to allow us all to be prepared an
 d inspired ahead of both Susan Stryker and Roz Kaveney visiting Glasgow th
 is week. We will be reading excerpts from The Great Good Time (Roz Kaveney
 ) and My Words to Victor Frankenstein Above the Vilage of Chamounix (Susan
  Stryker). Printouts of both are available to collect in the bookshop. 
 🌟Practical Information. 🌟This reading group is free. 📚 A note on 
 the bookshop space and expectations. The bookshop space is small\, so even
 ts like this tend to be magical\, intimate\, low key and occasionally chao
 tic. Seating is a mix of some chairs with backs\, as well as benches\, sto
 ols and floor cushions. Lighting is soft and low. The big doors can open f
 or ventilation - and we always do a check before we start to make sure eve
 ryone is comfortable\, and to make sure everyone who needs a seat has one.
