DESCRIPTION:Shapeshifting folk-rock artist\, once based in Naarm\, Melbour
 ne\, now based on Awabakal land\, Newcastle\, Jhana Allan returns to Melbo
 urne in October for a tour celebrating the release of her two singles\, 
 ‘You Got The Eyes’ and ‘Angsty at Anstey’. After the release of he
 r predominantly indie-rock album ‘Fake Paradise’ in 2024\, Allan’s n
 ew single ‘You Got The Eyes’ leans towards a laidback\, groove-driven 
 country feel\, with mandolin as the driving force. The song has extra sign
 ificance as it was the first on which Allan started working with her mento
 r Rachel Baiman. These two singles were produced by Baiman in Nashville wi
 th a group of stellar Nashville musicians. At the time Allan was writing 
 ‘You Got The Eyes’\, it was 2019 in the middle of the drought on Anewa
 n (New England Region) country. She states “I was living in a small rura
 l town\, driving long distances and writing on the drives.” You Got The 
 Eyes started out as a heart-broken country ballad. Working with Rachel Bai
 man however\, resulted in it becoming a song about Allan taking her power 
 back\, and ultimately recognising her own worth. “I feel powerful when I
  sing it. The single artwork is me cos-playing confidence\, or maybe even 
 a touch of arrogance. For someone who constantly second-guesses herself\, 
 putting on a persona of overconfidence is really therapeutic for me”. Jh
 ana will be playing as a duo with bassist Tim Merrikin and will be support
