 e Byrnes and pianist Jeffrey Haskell\, as they explore the timeless music 
 of George Gershwin. The program celebrates the remarkable songwriter and c
 omposer and lyricist brother whose music bridged Broadway\, jazz\, and the
  concert hall\, creating a sound that remains unmistakably American nearly
  a century later.\n\nAn award-winning vocalist and graduate of the Univers
 ity of Arizona’s School of Music\, Katherine Byrnes has built a career s
 panning jazz\, Broadway\, rock\, and classical music. She has performed th
 roughout the United States and internationally\, including tours in Europe
  and China\, and has shared the stage with artists ranging from Amos Lee t
 o the Tucson Symphony Orchestra\, Calexico\, and Orkesta Mendoza. Jeffrey 
 Haskell is a longtime pillar of Tucson’s jazz community\, whose career b
 egan as a professional musician in Philadelphia and has taken him from the
  Boston Pops and major symphony orchestras to decades of teaching\, arrang
 ing\, conducting\, and performing in Southern Arizona. A former director o
 f Jazz Studies at the University of Arizona and co-founder of the Tucson J
 azz Orchestra\, Haskell brings a lifetime of experience and deep knowledge
