 he poetry of Rick Freeman\, recited by John Stanton. It will be accompanie
 d by original compositions written and performed by Tony Gould. \n\nThe co
 llection of 25 original\, timeless\, poems in part attempts to explore the
  Australian psyche. The obsession with sport yet the determination of all 
 manner of artists despite this. It is often Melbourne centric. It touches 
 on the Australian loneliness epidemic in which one in four Australians liv
 e alone. Joy\, grief\, family\, love and friendships are some of the theme
 s of the cycle. Also our café culture and coffee as good in Melbourne as 
 anywhere in the nation and beyond. The first five poems comprise the Cafe 
 Suite with number 5 being 'Motherhood Monday Morning' connecting to 'Meet 
 You At The G.' It captures our resourcefulness and inventiveness. It touch
 es on racism in the AFL and more broadly. Our enterprising character\, hum
 our and our seemingly innate radar (most of the time) for nonsense and con
  artists. The narrative has some universal themes such as feelings versus 
 facts in 'The Wrong Path' and depression in 'Within Blue.' Quotidian would
  be an apt description rather than too abstract for the collection in gene
 ral.\n\nOur relatively unique long service leave. Earthiness such as our c
 aravan culture alongside the swanky. Reference to regional Australia and o
 f course the universal company of pets that perhaps help our blood pressur
 e. A heroic sheep dog and a famous life saving messenger pigeon in World W
 ar 2 -GI Joe\, have a poem each dedicated to them. Our Generosity and the 
 environment challenges of terrifying fires in the bush. The poems cover a 
 wide variety of characters and moods.  Our aging population is captured in
  a few poems that seniors will be able to relate to easily. \n\nAnd it is 
 implied that much is owed to our varied people from far and wide to our Is
 land Continent. Plus of course greatly to our Indigenous People.\n\nTICKET
