SUMMARY:Let’s Talk Burnout\, Music as Medicine
LOCATION:Hugh's Room
DESCRIPTION:What if music is more than something we make\, perform or list
en to?What if it can also help us heal?\nOn Monday October 5th Hugh's Room
Live hosts MUSIC AS MEDICINE\, bringing artists and community members to
gether for an evening exploring the relationship between creativity\, musi
c and mental wellbeing. Part three of the series 'Let's Talk Burnout'\, th
e evening will begin with a live musical performance by Mimi O'Bonsawin\,
followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A and will close with an inf
ormal opportunity to connect and continue the conversation with artists\,
panelists and fellow members of the community.\nThe evening will be led by
singer-songwriter\, filmmaker and educator Andrea Ramolo\, whose document
ary The South explores the traditional music\, dance and healing rituals o
f Salento in southern Italy\, where there are traditions that see music an
d dance as powerful tools for healing and community.\nAndrea will moderate
a conversation with artists/panelists about the ways creativity can suppo
rt us through difficult times\, and the different ways music be used as an
d around healing and medicine. The panel will also consider the balance be
tween creating for ourselves and creating as a profession. How can we main
tain a creative practice without allowing the pressures of the music indus
try to turn something restorative into another source of burnout?\nThis is
a free event\, and registration is encouraged to ensure your spot for thi
 s special evening. \nPresented by Revelios\, Hugh’s Room and Creative A
