SUMMARY:Burdock Presents: Nardos Almaz w/ Ebril
LOCATION:Burdock Music Hall
DESCRIPTION:BURDOCK PRESENTS: Nardos Almaz w/ Ebril\nOur free Sunday sho
w series returns with two of Toronto's finest indie artists - Nardos Almaz
and Ebril. Hosted by Kate Prenty (Famously Into)\, this is a free\, fi
rst-come\, first-served show - spots are only guaranteed to the first 70 p
eople in attendance. \nNardos Almaz\nWith an adoration for songwriting\,
Nardos Almaz began her musical journey from her childhood bedroom in Kitch
ener-Waterloo. She uses clever guitar melodies and honest lyrics to naviga
te her intersectional identity. Now based in Toronto\, Almaz released her
debut EP Close Contact in October 2025\, following her through the soberin
g reality of young adulthood as a queer\, Black woman. Fresh off an electr
ic double single release in the spring\, her dynamic performances and poig
nant songwriting have been steadily carving out a space for her in the Can
 adian indie music scene.\nBandcamp / Instagram\nEbril\nThe work of 22-ye
ar old Iraqi-Canadian artist Ebril blends the outside world with the dee
p confines of her insides to produce works carefully crafted with intimate
songwriting and distinct floral production. Her self produced album "In
Copula” plays on themes of identity\, adolescence\, and biology. Coming
from a science background\, Ebril references the environment around her t
o describe the emotions and experiences of growing up as a first generati
on immigrant\, using flora and fauna to represent her longing for free
dom and flight. Struggling to find a space that felt right to explore her
unique expression of culture and art\, Ebril’s world building through
‘In Copula’ achieves the realm of space she needed to feel connected t
o her real world with sounds recorded from inside her room of the world ha
 ppening outside.  \nWebsite / Instagram\nKate Prenty\nKaitlyn Swan is t
