SUMMARY:Rodrigo y Gabriela - OurHome Tour
LOCATION:The Gov - The Venue
DESCRIPTION:GRAMMY-winning Mexican guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela will retu
rn to Australia in January 2027 for a national tour celebrating their visi
onary new album OurHome \, out September 18 via ATO Records . The album is
available now for pre-order through the band’s official store. Recorded
and self-produced at NK Sound Tokyo \, OurHome marks a striking new chapt
er for the duo\, whose fearless blend of acoustic mastery\, cinematic atmo
sphere\, and spiritual exploration has earned them a global audience over
more than two decades. The album’s creative spark emerged from a deeply
personal moment: the passing of their beloved studio cat\, Pelusa. After m
onths of creative uncertainty\, the duo found themselves suddenly unlocked
\, writing freely and instinctively. “It was like she was telling us\,
‘Stop messing around and just do what you do best\,’” says Gabriela.
That idea runs throughout the album\, which serves as both a love letter
to Japan and a meditation on the possibility of finding peace wherever you
are. Returning to the textural fluidity of acoustic instrumentation after
the electric-guitar-heavy sound of 2023’s In Between Thoughts…A New W
orld \, OurHome features collaborators including former Megadeth guitarist
Marty Friedman \, Japanese jazz pianist Hiromi \, cellist Hiyori Okuda \,
and guitarist/composer Yukihiro Atsumi . Mixed by five-time GRAMMY winner
Dave Sardy (The Who\, Oasis\, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and mastered by Step
hen Marcussen (Nirvana\, R.E.M.\, The Rolling Stones)\, the album draws fr
 om manga\, mythology\, migration\, philosophy\, nature\, and personal tran
sformation while remaining rooted in the expressive acoustic interplay tha
t has defined Rodrigo y Gabriela’s career. The album’s title was inspi
red by a sign on a Melbourne public housing tower reading “OUR HOME\,”
which echoed the record’s central theme\, finding peace within yourself
rather than seeking external approval. OurHome reflects the duo’s long-
standing creative connection to Japan\, a place that has repeatedly offere
d them artistic clarity and emotional grounding. Alongside the album annou
ncement\, Rodrigo y Gabriela released the first single ‘Monster’ inspi
red by Naoki Urasawa’s iconic manga Monster and accompanied by a new vid
eo created by Urasawa himself. A longtime admirer of the duo\, Urasawa cra
fted original artwork for the track\, calling the collaboration “an enco
unter I still find incredible.” They have also just released album’s s
 econd single\, ‘OurHome\,’ a luminous\, meditative composition that ca
ptures the album’s core message of inner grounding and emotional clarity
. Serving as a thematic counterpoint to ‘Monster\,’ the track offers a
sense of uplift\, stillness\, and renewal. For over two decades\, Rodrigo
y Gabriela have redefined what acoustic guitar can be — fusing classica
 l finesse\, rock and metal firepower\, percussive rhythm\, and spiritual d
epth into a sound entirely their own. From busking on Dublin’s Grafton S
treet to winning a GRAMMY Award for Mettavolution \, they’ve become glob
al festival favourites and headliners of iconic stages including Glastonbu
ry \, the Hollywood Bowl \, Red Rocks \, Royal Albert Hall \, Radio City M
usic Hall \, and the Sydney Opera House . Onstage\, Rodrigo’s lightning-
fast lead lines and Gabriela’s hypnotic\, hard-hitting rhythms create a
pulse-raising experience of stillness\, intensity\, and unstoppable moment
um. Their 2027 Australian tour offers audiences a chance to witness the du
o at their most adventurous\, intimate and powerful\; performing new mater
ial from OurHome alongside fan favourites.\n\nBoletos: https://tickets.ozt
