DESCRIPTION:Joel Ostrom is a born and raised fourth generation Albertan. T
 he son of ranchers and rodeo stars\, Joel grew up on a farm just outside 
 of Calgary. Though he initially followed in the footsteps of his parents 
 and extended family by competing in the sport of rodeo\, it wasn’t until
  he was in high school that he discovered his passion for music.\nGrowing 
 up listening to country music on his mom’s collection of cassette tapes\
 , he knew the kind of music he wanted to learn. After acquiring his first
  electric guitar\, a Fender Telecaster\, he immediately became hooked on 
 the blistering fast country licks of artists like Vince Gill\, Brent Mason
  and Brad Paisley.\nAfter cutting his teeth on live music performance on t
 he worship team of his church\, he soon began gaining attention from musi
 cians in Calgary’s country music scene and started working as a freelanc
 e guitarist for various country acts around Alberta.\nAfter years of perfo
 rming as a backup guitarist for others\, Joel decided to take his musical
  career to the next level by fronting his own band called Tin Star\, backe
 d up by other Alberta musicians he had befriended during his tenure as a 
 hired gun guitarist. By starting his own musical act\, Joel was free to pe
 rform the kind of country music he loved listening to growing up – as we
 ll as pepper in as much guitar playing as he wanted.\nAfter the success of
  his own musical group\, Joel again decided to advance his career as a re
 cording artist by releasing and performing his own original music – feat
 uring his unique blend of country style guitar playing with a modern sound
  that pays homage to the classic artists that have inspired him since his
