SUMMARY:FLoHM
LOCATION:Emmauskirche
DESCRIPTION:"what remains lingering" Double EP Release FLoHM is an acousti
c solo project of Hungarian cellist Gábor Hartyáni \, creating ever-shif
ting meditative trance flows\, guiding listeners through sonic landscapes
woven from original compositions\, improvisation and influences from class
ical\, jazz and world music. Often blending melodies and rhythms from land
s and traditions of Eastern Europe\, Turkey\, the Middle East and India\,
the music unfolds in dialogue with the moment\, the audience and the space
itself. This special concert celebrates the release of "what remains ling
ering" \, a double EP of material recorded during an artist residency in t
he abandoned building of Hangar Museo of Albanella in rural Italy. The vas
t concrete exhibition hall\, with its remarkable natural reverberation\, b
ecame both instrument and collaborator in the recording process. The first
EP\, "lingering" \, explores the acoustic possibilities of the space thro
ugh a collection of on-the-spot compositions and transformed\, extended ve
rsions of earlier works\, shaped by resonance\, repetition and spontaneous
discovery. The second EP\, "what remains" \, is the audio recording of a
dance-music instant composition piece with dancer David Kummer. Originally
\, both video and audio material were recorded simultaneously\, but the vi
deo footage got lost and this sonic trace is "what remains" . For this rel
ease concert at Emmauskirche\, the music returns to a space whose architec
ture and acoustics can once again become part of the performance\, invitin
g the audience into an immersive listening experience shaped by resonance\
, presence and attentive listening. About Gábor Gábor plays the cello si
nce he was 7 and started improvising parallel to his classical studies 22
years ago. Later\, his musical attention shifted toward instant compositio
n\, jazz\, contemporary\, world\, electronic and urban music. After his So
ciology and Anthropology studies in Budapest and creating for two and a ha
lf years in Amsterdam\, he moved to Berlin in early 2017 to expand his art
istic scope and immerse in the cultural capital's diverse scenes. Besides
working on his solo flow project FLoHM\, he is the founder of the world fu
sion collective Khayâl\, the urban pop duo Tabula Rasa and the sound jour
ney trio TRILOKA. In addition to being the cellist of the electronic live
act NORLYZ\, the Afropean Nomad Chanson group Maemo and the free impro cel
lo quartet Hunter Underwater\, he curates and organizes his own events whi
le collaborating with various dancers and musicians in Berlin\, Amsterdam
and Budapest. Gábor keeps on (re)searching\, observing and experimenting
as part of his commitment to constant development. Instagram https://www.i
