 ryone. We celebrate queer and trans individuals\,  lesbian women\, femme-p
 resenting people\, and allies. Whether you're walking a category\, cheerin
 g from the sidelines\, or living your best life at the afterparty\, you ar
 e welcome here.\n\n\nWHAT IS BALLROOM?\nBallroom culture\, also known as B
 all Culture\, was born in the 1980s within New York’s Black and Latinx L
 GBTQ+ communities. It emerged as a powerful response to exclusion\, creati
 ng a space where people could be seen\, celebrated\, and free to express t
 hemselves. Today\, ballroom is a global movement celebrating identity\, re
 silience\, fashion\, performance\, and community. Participants “walk” 
 in categories ranging from high fashion to dance performance\, competing f
 or trophies\, prizes\, and cultural recognition.\n\nCATEGORIES: TO BE ANNO
 UNCED\n\n\n\nDRESS CODE is for those walking in the categories. Serving a 
 look is always encouraged\, but never required.\n\n\n\nABOUT LEGACY\nLEGAC
 Y is a love letter to the late Kirvan Fortuin\, also known as Kirvan Le Ca
 p\, founding mother of the House of Le Cap and a pioneer of African ballro
 om culture.\nCo-created in 2022 by Rori Bingham and produced by Edition Ev
 ents\, LEGACY was designed as a safe\, joyful\, and affirming space for Ca
 pe Town’s trans-feminine and gender non-conforming communities.\n\nABOUT
  EDITION EVENTS\nFounded in 2020\, Edition Events is a creative production
  company dedicated to building safe\, inclusive\, and culturally impactful
  experiences across Cape Town. From underground ballroom functions to larg
