  workshop series you'll explore new approaches\, practice creative techniq
 ues\, and connect with fellow scientists who are passionate about sharing 
 their work in engaging and impactful ways. Whether you’re looking for st
 ructured training or a chance to refresh your approach\, this series offer
 s practical guidance in the fundamentals of science communication. October
  15 — SciComm Foundations Essentials of connecting with audiences\, iden
 tifying and reducing jargon\, and developing effective messages. October 2
 2 — Science Storytelling The science behind storytelling and its power\;
  story structures and themes\; story elements\; examples of science storie
 s\; opportunities to identify and create story elements and/or stories. Oc
 tober 29 — Science Presentations Best practices in connecting with audie
 nces\; creating effective visual presentations\; giving talks\, with oppor
 tunities to develop plans for presentations. November 5 — Multimedia & S
 cience Visuals Introduction to the variety of multimedia used for SciComm
 \; examples of effective multimedia science storytelling\; tips and activi
 ties for four areas of multimedia as well as guidance and practice. Novemb
 er 12 — Working with K-12 Audiences Introduction to student and teacher 
 motivation\, customizing your science to age appropriate messaging\, and g
 enerating activities that support your messaging. Participants who complet
 e the full series will receive a Certificate of Completion and a Letter of
  Recognition. This event is hosted by the STEM Community of Practice for E
