DESCRIPTION:LIGHT ASYLUM is the internationally revered techno-punk music p
 roject of vocalist\, producer Shannon Funchess founded in Brooklyn\, New Y
 ork in 2007. Captivating audiences with cathartic performances\, LIGHT ASY
 LUM emerged in 2009 at the forefront of a movement turned full blown reviv
 al of late 70’s to 90’s electronic music inspired by pioneers of Detro
 it techno\, Belgian new beat\, EBM\, gothic rock\, Chicago house\, new wav
 e and synth pop.Autumn of 2011 would herald a new gothic club anthem “Da
 rk Allies” with Funchess emoting eternal life in her signature contralto
  singing\, “Forever…and ever” on the debut ‘In Tension’ EP (Mexi
 can Summer/Kemado Records). A debut full length S/T LP released the follow
 ing spring aided in igniting the dark wave genre that coincided with the c
 old wave revival in NYC’s underground music scene. Funchess carried the 
 torch above ground to iconic venues Radio City Music Hall\, Koko\, The Syd
 ney Opera House\, Moulin Rouge and Berghain. Summer 2025will mark the firs
