 his hit "Trailer Hitch." He followed it up with a series of songs and albu
 ms\, including his year-long project "52” that he began to roll out in 2
 022 in honor of his 52nd birthday. Kristian divided the 52-song collection
  into four volumes\, released them over 12 months\, and leaned into the ec
 lectic influences he collected throughout his expansive music career.\n\n"
 I've been given the opportunity to reinvent myself many times\," Kristian 
 says. "And I've been grateful in every incarnation."\n\nLast summer\, he d
 rove his striped umbrella in the sand\, staking his spot in summertime bea
 ch music with his EP "Drink Happy Thoughts."\n\n"(Beach music) is just fas
 cinating\," Kristian says. "No matter who I talk to about this kind of stu
 ff\, it's the same feeling I got when I would tell people I have a band ca
 lled Sugarland. They're like\,' Oh my God\, I love Sugarland. That's you?'
  When people confess that you're their guilty pleasure\, it's such a beaut
 iful feeling. How about we normalize it? Beach music is one of my favorite
  things."\n\nSince then\, Kristian has released a series of island version
 s of his popular songs that marry his signature groovy sound with his regg
 ae influence.\n\n"I feel somewhat like I stumbled into a relationship with
  listeners as the person who provides smiles\," Kristian says. "It happene
 d early in the Sugarland world. We were writing positive songs at a time w
 hen things weren't always that positive. Then it happened again when I bec
 ame a solo artist."\n\nAs he was working on his own music\, Kristian was a
 lso busy in the studio producing Megan Moroney. Megan recently charted her
  first No. 1 song with the Bush-produced "Tennessee Orange."\n\n2024 marks
  Kristian's 30th year in music – and the 20th anniversary of Sugarland's
  signature hit "Baby Girl."\n\nThe Sevierville\, TN native launched his pr
 ofessional music career in 1994 with the Folk- Rock duo Billy Pilgrim. Wit
 hin the decade\, Kristian formed Sugarland\, and the group released its de
 but single\, "Baby Girl\," in 2004. Sugarland charted five No. 1 hits and 
 12 Top 10 songs. Kristian made a foray into television theme songs in 2016
  with "Forever Now (Say Yes)\," which he penned and performed for TLC's po
 pular show "Say Yes to the Dress."\n\nThe multi-instrumentalist is also a 
 founding member of Rock Jam band Dark Water alongside his brother Brandon 
 Bush and esteemed guitarist Benji Shanks. In addition\, Kristian co-wrote 
 a song for the Atlanta staging of Stephen Schwartz's "Working: A Musical" 
 and has written three musicals. "Troubadour" (2017) and "Darlin' Cory" (20
