arinet (FR) Ariel Tessier : Drums\, percussion (FR) MONTAGNE SAUVAGE (WILD
An orignal work bor
n from the expansion of the Shan trio into a quintet\, featuring two inter
national guest artists. This project draws inspiration from&nbsp\; t radit
ional Anatolian songs\, improvised aesthetics\, and soundscapes connected
to the mountains . From its most intimate tremors to its deafening whirlwi
nds and its abyssal silence\, the quintet Montagne Sauvage captures the ve
ry essence of the elemental forces that animate the majestic mountain land
scape. (Ariel Tessier
Canan Domurcakli
Continuing the sonic exploration of the Shan trio (Ariel Tes
sier\, Julien Pontvianne\, and Pascal Charrier)\, Montagne Sauvage was bor
n from the encounter with Norwegian saxophonist Sigrid Aftret and Turkish
 singer Canan Domurcakli.
Together\, they
draw inspiration from the writings of anthropologist Nastassja Martin and
her book Les &Acirc\;mes sauvages (Wild Souls)\, to create a fully improvi
sed music &ndash\; organic and mineral - at the crossroads of free jazz\,
contemporary music\, and traditional Anatolian songs.
It is a meditative experience that leads toward trance and powerful
sonic eruptions\; between otherness\, vertigo\, and resonance with the li
ving world. A suspended moment\, like a twilight walk through a Mediterran
ean mountain range. MUSICIANS Pascal CHARRIER Artisti
 c Director &ndash\; NA&Iuml\; N&Ocirc\; PRODUCTION Guitarist\, composer\,
Na&ium
Born in Marseille in 1976. Trained at
the IMFP in Salon-de-Provence\, the CMDL\, the Avignon Conservatory (DEM
Jazz\, 2006). He developed from early on a singular approach to sound and
composition. Winner of the Best Soloist Award at the Porquerolles Jazz Com
petition (2008)\; he founded the company Na&iuml\; N&ocirc\; in 2011\, bas
ed in Apt\, where he serves as Artistic Director. There\, he develops a mu
sical project that is both demanding and open\, rooted in its territory ye
t oriented toward contemporary creation. In Pascal&rsquo\;s music\, every
written melody originates from singing\, and his compositional process fol
lows an empirical\, instinctive path - a deeply physical relationship to s
ound. He is particularly interested in exploring orchestral or instrumenta
l timbre through combinations of intervals that create phasing effects and
contradictions between registers. He also seeks to generate a sense of co
ntinuum and fragility\, using long\, atypical rhythmic sequences and irreg
ular harmonic progressions. His artistic stance is to find music&rsquo\;s
evocative power within fragile\, blurred\, and unstable environments. Alon
gside influences from contemporary jazz\, free jazz\, and improvised music
\, Pascal Charrier&rsquo\;s work is also nourished by Mediterranean and co
ntemporary classical music. The themes explored in his projects are inspir
ed by human lives\, historical events\, political issues\, and the contemp
 lation of nature. &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Canan DOMURCAKLI Vocalist\, musician 来
Born in Ankara\, Canan Domurcakli was immersed from childh
ood in the traditional music of Anatolia. She started studying solfeggio a
nd saz in middle school\, notably with masters İhsan &Ouml\;zt&uuml\;rk a
nd Musa Eroğlu\, and gradually deepened her knowledge of the repertoire t
hrough the various regional styles of Anatolia. For her\, traditional musi
c is both a living memory and a way to understand her own culture. Her mas
tery of popular poetry\, closely intertwined with this musical tradition\,
enriches her interpretation and performance. &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Sigrid AFTRET
Sigrid Aftret
Norwegian saxophonist and composer Sigrid Aftret
was&nbsp\; awarded the 2024 JazZtipendiat by the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra.
Since her time at the CNSM in Paris (2018)\, she has built strong connect
ions with the French jazz scene through L&rsquo\;Autre Collectif and the g
roups B&ecirc\;l and Petit Matin. She has also performed as a guest with S
 han\, Pens&eacute\;es Rotatives\, and Eve Risser&rsquo\;s Red Desert Orche
stra. An active educator\, she has led several masterclasses in improvisat
ion and composition\, organized by the ONJ\, Na&iuml\; N&ocirc\; Productio
 n\, and the University of Toulouse/CIAM. &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Julien PONTVIANNE
 Saxophonist\, clarinetist\, composer Julien
Sonic Yout
h、Paul Motian 与 Morton Feldman.
（Watt clarinet Quartet\, Aum Grand Ense
 mble\, Kepler\, Abhra）。
Saxophonist\, clarinetist and composer\, Ju
lien draws inspiration from diverse musical traditions - from Renaissance
masses to Indonesian gamelan\, through Sonic Youth\, Paul Motian and Morto
n Feldman. He offers a singular vision of slowness: a single ignition at t
he birth of sound\, travelling along the wick of time until its silent ext
inction. His music takes the form of sonic aggregates\, continuous or frag
mented\, sometimes as fleeting songs - sonic silhouettes that appear and v
anish\, bound to silence. For him\, music is the invention of stories and
a journey toward its own end\, where one fully inhabits time and the mater
 ial of sound. His compositions evoke an &ldquo\;ecology of sound\,&rdquo\;
in the lineage of G&eacute\;rard Grisey and Salvatore Sciarrino. He devel
ops this aesthetic within several ensembles - the Watt clarinet quartet\,
Aum Grand Ensemble\, Kepler\, and Abhra - offering a hedonistic asceticism
\, a vibrating meditation. Alongside his projects as a leader\, he is co-f
ounder of the collective and label Onze Heures Onze\, one of the most dyna
mic on the young French scene. He performs in groups ranging from 1920s sw
ing to experimental rock and the most contemporary forms of music. Graduat
ed from the CNSM of Paris in 2009 with the highest distinction\, he has wo
n several awards and performed in numerous countries: the US\, Canada\, Ch
 ina\, Japan\, India\, Colombia\, and across Europe. &nbsp\; &nbsp\;Ariel T
 ESSIER Drummer\, percussionist

Originally fr

tive career in France and abroad. A three-time laureate of the&nbsp\; Jazz
