-at-the-walt-whitman-mall\n\n \nSpilled leftovers in the back of a taxi.
 A rolled-up joint in the parking lot of a box-store strip mall. A drive-th
ru at midnight. LA based artist\, Caroline Rose (she/they) has always foun
d the surreal embedded within the banal\, and Gentling the Horse at the Wa
lt Whitman Mall pushes that instinct to its furthest edge. The record cons
tructs a hyperreal Americana fantasy where everyday life is asked to revea
l its underbelly. The release on October 23\, 2026\, doubles as the debut
of SUCK records\, Rose’s own imprint—a fitting next form for an enigma
tic artist whose work resists settling into one shape.\n\nGentling the Hor
se at the Walt Whitman Mall stretches the ordinary into the uncanny. The r
ecord pairs sharply observed\, memoiristic songwriting with expansive guit
ar textures that render the everyday with violent clarity and mythic scale
. Beneath its melodic sweep and signature hooks runs a current of violence
and American dream leakage.\n\n“Alien decisions from a swamp-like past
…now I'm just a subway rat running from the lab…I reject this perfect
 structure… I burn down this home…I don’t want to be composed\, I wan
t to decompose!”\n\n– “Valery (please don’t be mad at me)”\n\nTh
e record dips into caricature to tell an exquisite corpse of stories throu
gh Rose’s idiosyncratic aesthetic fantasies. Songs like “Chow Mein”
and “Cement Head” lurch between menace and slapstick.\n\n“I got a he
ad full of steel barbed wire…I got lungs\, two Ziploc bags… I got a dr
ill inside me… my blood oozes Texas tea.”\n\n– “Cement Head”\n\n
