SUMMARY:Take a Breath: The Sauna Sessions
LOCATION:Glasgow Community Sauna
DESCRIPTION:Join artist\, movement practitioner and sauna host Simone Lore
  for a guided sauna experience designed to support\, reflect\, and rest as
  artists together. As the seasons begin to change and the metaphorical har
 vest is brought in\, lets make space to reflect and frame any intentions f
 or this coming autumn. Bringing the steam of the sauna\, natural body trea
 tments\, guided reflection and somatic work\, this session offers a space 
 for rest and gently focus self and community.Simone is exploring ideas of 
 the sauna as a context and space for intimate performance and creative gat
 hering. These sessions with Take Me Somewhere are supporting Simone’s de
 velopment of sauna centred performance making currently under development.
 Please note: While saunas are generally safe for most healthy adults\, pri
 mary risks include dehydration\, drops in blood pressure and heat exhausti
 on. If you are unsure please seek medical advice. Please review and accept
  Glasgow Community Sauna’s Health and Safety Waiver as part of the booki
 ng process. HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE SESSION AND WHAT TO EXPECT:10 mins intr
 oduction and gathering. Simone will lead a small introduction and gentle e
 mbodiment invitation to arrive together. 60 mins Sauna experience (this in
 cludes breaks and times for cooling. Please note leaving the sauna at anyt
 ime to cool down is also very welcome and encouraged- please listen to you
 r own bodies needs. ) 20 mins time to close\, get dress and enjoy refreshm
 entsPlease bring a towel to sit on and a towel to dry yourself afterwards\
 , flipflops/sliders for feet when walking around the site.A bottle for dri
 nking waterSwimwear or cotton based shorts/vest for wearing in the sauna (

 ell as food and drink. About the facilitatorSimone Lore (also known as Sim
 one Kenyon) is a UK-based artist\, movement practitioner and sauna host. T
 hey creates works that encompass dance and somatic practices\, environment
 \, ecology\, walking arts\, participatory events and workshops within a mu
 ltitude of creative and community contexts.Their practice explores embodim
 ent and place-relational performance making\, paying attention to somatic 
 and sensory perceptions of environments. Simone has many years of experien
 ce in dance and movement practice and is a qualified Feldenkrais practitio
 ner and meditation teacher.Over the past 6 years they have undertaken Saun
 a Master training (levels 1+2 and advanced whisking/plants) with the Inter
 national Bath Academy based in Lithuania and work at their local sauna in 
 Edinburgh. About Take A BreathTake A Breath are a series of wellbeing sess
 ions delivered by Take Me Somewhere as part of our Studio Somewhere progra
 mme. Take a Breath is an opportunity for pause\, generosity and community 
 cohesion\, where artists can come together in experiences that centre thei

 s of Use (READ BEFORE BOOKING) 1. Introduction This document outlines the 
 terms of use\, health waiver\, and safety responsibilities associated with
  the use of Glasgow Community Sauna CIC facilities. By signing this agreem
 ent\, you acknowledge that you have read\, understood\, and agree to compl
 y with all safety guidance\, etiquette rules\, and health considerations o
 utlined herein. Use of the sauna and associated facilities (including cold
  plunge\, showers\, or wild swimming) is undertaken entirely at your own r
 isk.2. Health and Medical Acknowledgement Using a sauna is an enjoyable an
 d beneficial activity\; however\, as with all heat and cold exposure\, the
 re are inherent risks. It is your responsibility to consult your General P
 ractitioner (GP) or qualified medical professional before use if you have 
 any doubt regarding your health or suitability to use the sauna. You must 
 seek medical advice before participating if you: Are pregnant Have heart d
 isease\, circulatory problems\, or have suffered a heart attack or stroke 
 Have high or low blood pressure Have diabetes Have epilepsy or seizure dis
 orders Have asthma or other respiratory conditions Have infectious disease
 s\, skin conditions\, sores\, or open wounds Take medication that may affe
 ct heart rate\, blood pressure\, perspiration\, or alertness (e.g. antihis
 tamines\, tranquillisers\, stimulants\, vasodilators) Suffer from migraine
 s\, dizziness\, or conditions affecting thermoregulation Have consumed a h
 eavy meal within 90 minutes of use Are under the influence of alcohol or d
 rugs.3. Assumption of Risk and Responsibility You acknowledge that sauna u
 se involves exposure to high temperatures\, cold environments\, slippery s
 urfaces\, and steam or water\, all of which carry inherent risks including
  but not limited to: Burns or scalds from hot surfaces or steam Slips\, tr
 ips\, and falls Overheating\, dehydration\, or fainting Reactions to extre
 me temperature change Contact with other users Exposure to airborne illnes
 s or contaminants You agree to take full responsibility for your own healt
 h\, safety\, and behaviour during your use of the sauna. Glasgow Community
  Sauna CIC and its staff are not liable for any injury\, loss\, or damage 
 to persons or property\, except where caused by conduct constituting more 
 than ordinary negligence under UK law.4. Personal Conduct and Safety Users
  must conduct themselves respectfully and follow all staff instructions. I
 nappropriate or unsafe behaviour will result in immediate removal without 
 refund. Enter and exit the sauna carefully and remove shoes before entry. 
 Always sit on a towel when using benches. Stay in the sauna for no longer 
 than 15–20 minutes per session. Hydrate before and after each session. R
 efrain from using essential oils without staff approval. Remove hanging je
 wellery to prevent burns. Only wear appropriate swimwear – nudity is not
  permitted. Avoid alcohol\, smoking\, or drug use in or around the sauna. 
 5. Children and Supervision Children under four (4) years of age are not p
 ermitted to use the sauna. Children aged 4–16 years must be supervised b
 y a responsible adult family member or guardian at all times. For minors u
 sing the sauna\, the supervising adult must sign this waiver acknowledging

 tion The sauna is wood-fired and will reach high temperatures. Do not touc
 h the stove\, stove door\, flue chimney\, sauna rocks\, or fire guards. On
 ly pour water onto sauna stones as instructed\, starting from the side fur
 thest away to avoid scalding.7. Group Bookings and Responsibility The pers
 on making a group booking is responsible for ensuring all participants hav
 e read\, understood\, and agreed to these terms prior to use. Group leader
 s must brief all users on safe sauna practices and behaviour expectations.
 8. Wild Swimming and Cold Plunge Use Cold immersion is entirely at your ow
 n risk. Users must enter the water gradually\, avoid hyperventilation or b
 reath-holding challenges.9. Admission and Right to Refuse Entry Glasgow Co
 mmunity Sauna CIC reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any per
 son deemed to pose a risk to themselves or others. Refunds will not be iss
