 le weaving in social satire. This play is a satirical and critical comment
 ary as well as an essentially humorous\, musical performance. The story re
 volves around a Thakur (landlord) who frequently gets upset and makes irra
 tional decisions. Being the ruler of several villages\, everyone is compel
 led to follow his orders. One time\, however\, the Thakur commands that al
 l the water-filled wells in the village be filled with sand\, causing grea
 t distress among the villagers. In response\, the villagers approach ‘Ba
 di-Maaji’ to complain about the Thakur. What follows is both funny and s
