DESCRIPTION:When someone experiences a loss like bereavement\, divorce\, mi
 scarriage\, or loss of employment\, it often affects many people.\nExperie
 ncing a loss can cause people to feel a range of difficult emotions. Havin
 g training in grief support is helpful for you to know how to care and wha
 t to say to someone facing such challenges in their changed world. \nAbout
  the Training\nThe NALAG Introduction to Loss &amp\; Grief workshop series
  will assist participants to provide support to those grieving. During the
  workshop you will reflect on your personal history of loss and past grief
  reactions. The landscape of grief is explored within a framework of conte
 mporary grief theory and models. You will learn strategies to help and bui
 ld your confidence in supporting others facing loss and bereavement.\nThis
  training is delivered online.\nVolunteering for NALAG\nAt the completion 
 of this training\, applicants can apply to become a NALAG Grief Support Vo
 lunteer. Applications to become a Support Volunteer will involve an assess
 ment for suitability and additional training prior to the commencement of

 clear understanding of the landscape of grief and categories of loss.\nRec
 ognition of normal grief reactions and the diversity of grieving styles.\n
 Explored the mediators of mourning and the influence played by attachment 
 in the bereavement process.\nStudied the contemporary theories and models 
 of grief used by NALAG in supporting others.\nExamined what support strate

 resenter\nAmy Welbourne &ndash\; Grief Support Educator &amp\; Lead Counse
 llor &nbsp\;\nAmy Welbourne is a registered counsellor with the Australian
  Counsellors Association (ACA MCOS 29916) and serves as an Educator and Le
 ad Counsellor for NALAG Grief Support. She brings extensive experience fro
 m child and youth mental health services\, schools\, and private practice.
  Amy has a strong interest in child and adolescent grief\, loss\, and fami
 ly therapy. She is currently the only counsellor in Australia trained in T
 rauma &amp\; Grief Component Therapy for Adolescents (TGCTA)\, completed t
