  Langa on LorcaUn tiro te peguenFlamenco dancer Julio Ruiz will present Un
  tiro te peguen ["May You Be Shot"]\, a work in which literature\, memory 
 and personal experience intertwine to offer an intimate and singular persp
 ective on flamenco\, the body and identity. The event will offer a chance 
 to get closer to Ruiz's artistic career and to the stories running through
  his writing\, bringing word and movement into dialogue as forms of expres
 sion\, memory and resistance.The event will consist of a short performance
  by Julio\, followed by a conversation with Jorge Gárriz about Julio's bo
 ok. SynopsisUn tiro te peguen is the first book by the flamenco dancer and
  creator Julio Ruiz. The publication brings together the creative process 
 and final dramaturgy of three of his most significant stage works\, transl
 ating onto the page an artistic universe built from flamenco\, writing and
  the body.The book explores themes such as identity\, legacy\, memory and 
 personal wounds\, situating itself in that territory where reality and fic
 tion blend together. Ruiz uses writing to expose the "seams" of his artist
 ic language and to reflect on the forces running through his creative prac
 tice. The title\, Un tiro te peguen\, also alludes to the attacks the arti
 st has faced from certain quarters that question his way of understanding 
 and renewing flamenco.With a prologue by Ernesto Artillo and an epilogue b
 y Violeta Gil\, the book works as an extension of his stage work and as an
  intimate look into the creative process of one of the young artists explo
 ring new ways of understanding contemporary flamenco. Patricia Langa on Lo
 rcaPatricia Langa\, through her character Manolita\, will present a perfor
 mance dedicated to Federico García Lorca on the occasion of the 90th anni
 versary of his murder. Through the body\, the spoken word and stage action
 \, the piece will evoke the figure and legacy of the poet\, addressing his
  death as an episode of violence and memory that continues to speak to the
  present.The performance will offer a reflection on absence\, identity and
  freedom\, reclaiming Lorca's work from a contemporary perspective and ass
 erting the continued relevance of his voice and artistic legacy. BiosJulio
  RuizA flamenco dancer and creator\, Julio Ruiz expands his practice beyon
 d flamenco\, developing his vision of art\, the stage and dance through hi
 s own company since 2014. Trained in Professional Flamenco Dance studies a
 s well as in Spanish Dance and Contemporary Dance\, he explores creation t
 hrough writing\, graphic design\, photography and audiovisual media\, buil
 ding a language entirely his own. Patricia LangaPatricia Langa is a dancer
 \, choreographer and stage creator born in Barcelona and based in London. 
 Trained at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona and at the Rambert School 
 of Ballet and Contemporary Dance\, she has developed an interdisciplinary 
 practice combining contemporary dance\, flamenco\, theatre\, mime\, drag a
 nd cabaret. Her work explores identity\, gender\, memory and queer histori
 es connected to Spanish culture in particular.As a performer\, she has wor
 ked internationally with choreographers and companies including Rambert\, 
 Lea Anderson\, Aletta Collins\, Thomas Noone Dance\, Dantzaz Konpainia\, B
 lind Summit\, Nicole Bachmann\, Gary Clarke Company\, Corali Dance Company
  and Thick & Tight\, as well as collaborating with the LA Philharmonic and
