DESCRIPTION:Come join us on this special “I Love New York” Path Through
  History Tour! This rare and specialized tour will lead you on a path thro
 ugh our historic landscape and mansion.\nYou will begin by exploring the f
 irst through fifth floors of the mansion\, providing visitors with a rare 
 glimpse of the lavish decorative arts and furniture from the previous owne
 rs of Lyndhurst. You will visit rooms such as the Mansion`s Parlor\, fille
 d with furniture designed by architect A.J. Davis\, the opulent Grand Pict
 ure Gallery with an original collection of European paintings\, and impres
 sive Tiffany stained glass windows.\nVisitors then climb to the observatio
 n tower with panoramic views of the Hudson River and Manhattan. You will t
 hen descend the backstairs to view the Butler’s Suite and extensive kitc
 hens\, before exiting through the servants’ dining room to visit the 191
 1 Laundry Building\, complete with original fixtures.\nAfter visiting the 
 Mansion\, you will take a leisurely stroll towards the Hudson River\, wend
 ing your way past restored “outdoor rooms\,” the site of an elaborate 
 treehouse and rare trees and gardens. While you take in the best views of 
 the river\, you will hear about several outbuildings and the estate’s 
 “recreation center.” This two-hour tour ends with a visit to the resto
 red 19th-century bowling alley with an exhibit on Lyndhurst owner Helen Go
 uld and neighbor Madam C. J. Walker in the North Parlor as well as enterin
 g the South Parlor\, which features decorative arts and 1895 wicker furnit
 ure and of course the 1894 bowling lanes!\nImportant Information\, Please

 g\, many flights of stairs\, and walking over uneven ground. \nA limited 
 number of tickets are available for each event\, and events do sell out.
