DESCRIPTION:Faraj Suleiman is bringing his first solo show “Faraj\, Pian
 o and Mic” live to EDMONTON.\nThe acclaimed Palestinian composer\, piani
 st and singer premieres his first fully solo show.\nFor the first time in 
 his career\, Faraj Suleiman performs entirely alone: one piano\, one micro
 phone\, no band. Piano and Mic strips his catalogue back to where it began
 : songs from Better than Berlin\, Second Verse and his latest album Maryam
  in bare new arrangements\, alongside the piano-led instrumental work of A
 s Much As It Takes\, which reworks Arabic melodies through jazz and contem
 porary composition.\n\n \nBorn in Rameh in the Galilee\, Suleiman has bec
 ome one of the defining voices of modern Arabic music\, filling halls from
  Beirut to Berlin and appearing at Montreux Jazz Festival\, London Jazz Fe
 stival and the Roman Theatre of Amman. Beyond the stage\, his scores for f
 ilms have carried his sound into cinema and art. Faraj\, Piano and Mic bri
 ngs all of it into a single room\, at close range\, at its very first outi

 IMAN\nFaraj Suleiman is a Palestinian composer and pianist. His music is s
 trongly influenced by Arabic/Eastern melodies and rhythms. He often incorp
 orates those scales and modalities in his compositions. In addition to bei
 ng inspired by his Arabic culture\, he is also influenced by Jazz traditio
 ns. As an Arab musician/pianist trained in classical music\, he constantly
  searches for new forms of expression to equally appeal to his "Eastern" a
 nd "Western" listeners.\nTo date\, Faraj Suleiman has composed several alb
 ums which have placed the "Eastern" piano at the centre of the composition
 \, ranging from solo piano compositions to quartets\, quintets\, arrangeme
 nts for choir and full orchestras.\nHe released a number of albums and mus
 ical projects such as: "Login"\, "Three Steps"\, "Mud"\, "Opening of the P
 alestinian Museum"\, "Al-Bashiq"\, "Love in the Cloud"\, "Once Upon a City
 ”\, "Love Without a Story”\, “Toy Box” and his first songs album 
 “Second Verse”\, the recording of "London Jazz Festival 2019"\, "Bette
 r than Berlin"\, "Faheem" - a songs album for children\, "Upright Biano"\,
  "As much as it takes" and lately "Maryam".\nHe also composed music for th
 eatre and film\, such as the multiple award- winning film by Ameen Nayfeh
