Since its launch in 2020 amid the unique circumstanc es of the COVID-19 pandemic\, the event has pioneered techno music from th e perspective of the local underground scene\, consistently showcasing the signature sounds of the underground culture present in that era and locat ion\, each time featuring different guest artists.\n\nStarting at Contact \, its birthplace\, and moving on to Mitsuki\, ENTER\, and then VENT\, Sho katai has changed venues while engaging with various artists and communiti es\, presenting the atmosphere flowing through the underground at each mom ent as sound. This year\, it celebrates its 6th anniversary.\n\nTo mark th is milestone\, Shokatai is bringing Russian artist Toki Fuko to Japan for the first time—a long-awaited artist.\n\nSounds that seem to arrive from beyond a deep fog. Low frequencies crawling deep beneath the earth’s su rface\; textures that erode space without defined outlines\; time that sub tly shifts form deep within the repetition.\nDeep\, hypnotic\, ambient\, d ub. Blurring the boundaries between these genres\, Toki Fuko’s music slo wly draws the listener into its depths.\n\nThis first-ever Japan performan ce\, marking the label’s 6th anniversary\, represents both a milestone f or Shokatai and a gateway to new depths.\n\nJoining them on stage will be Lisa Mizuno and NYAO.\nDrawing on a deep journey of self-exploration\, Lis a Mizuno views music and dance as a “collective prayer.” Through her e vent series Resonance\, she has connected the Japanese cultural concepts o f “ma” (space)\, “wa” (harmony)\, and “inori” (prayer) to cont emporary club culture\, crafting experiences that encompass music\, space \, and the body. With her experimental and fluid DJ sets\, she guides the dance floor into a space where senses and consciousness are transformed.\n \nNYAO is a DJ and organizer based at TRAFFIC in Nishi-Azabu. While buildi ng a robust groove by infusing a sense of speed into solid\, massive sound s\, they also guide the dance floor into a meditative state through repeti tive rhythms. Through their event series axiom and the party collective Dt Rm\, they connect artists and communities while exploring music and the cu lture that emerges around it.\n\nSounds born from different places and met hodologies converge in a single space. Through repetitive rhythms\, swayin g textures\, and low frequencies that sink deep into the body\, the bounda ries of time\, space\, and consciousness slowly dissolve.\nEach an unique psychedelia on the dance floor\, transforming into a single\, unpredictabl e vibration.
