DESCRIPTION:This series of pastel classes will introduce a fresh range of t
 echniques to help participants further develop their pastel skills and cre
 ate more depth\, atmosphere and realism in their artwork. The workshop wil
 l explore atmospheric perspective\, hard and soft edges\, reflected light 
 and colour\, lost-and-found edges\, selective detail\, and complementary c
 olours for richer shadows and highlights. Participants will also experimen
 t with directional mark-making and varied pastel pressure to create textur
 e and expressive surfaces while avoiding over-blending. Particular attenti
 on will be given to how light influences colour\, form and focal points\, 
 helping participants produce stronger\, more dimensional artworks. Suitabl
