DESCRIPTION:A winter edition of our all-day celebration of some of the best
  new music around at the moment\, In Colour Festival returns to The Bruden
 ell!\n\nSQUID:\n\nSquid have come a long way since forming in 2016 as an i
 nstrumental jazz band for a monthly night in Brighton whilst living in che
 ap rented accommodation across the Sussex coast as they finished their stu
 dies. The band started expressing influences from outsider punk to Fourth 
 World\, and became known for their chaotic and increasingly incendiary liv
 e shows. The band relocated to London to make the most of their burgeoning
  reputation\, and having heard them at the Brixton institution The Windmil
 l\, producer Dan Carey invited them to his studio\; releasing a string of 
 fine singles on Speedy Wunderground and the Town Centre EP (2019) which ce
 mented their reputation. An album deal with visionary label Warp followed
 \, and the hype grew further.\n\nTheir debut album Bright Green Field (202
 1) arrived as the world was starting to open up after the pandemic and the
 y broke into the top 5 in the UK chart. In 2023 they released their sophom
 ore album\, the brooding O Monolith\, which took the band all over the wor
 ld and broke new ground that hardly seemed possible five years prior. Like
  the bravest sophomore albums\, O Monolith charted a trajectory beyond the
 ir breakthrough sound\, taking the band towards an experimental career ahe
 ad. Fans growing with them\, disseminated alternative versions of songs an
 d demos in setlists and NTS sessions.\n\nNow on their third album\, Coward
 s\, the English art rock quintet extend and explore textures of folk\, kos
 mische\, psychedelia\, jazz and electronics – hovering at 30\,000 feet a
 bove distinct tales of human evil: apophenia-tinged songs punched by vanta
 black comedy.\n\nSquid are Louis Borlase\, Arthur Leadbetter\, Laurie Nank
 ivell \,Anton Pearson and Ollie Judge.\n\nWORKING MENS CLUB:\n\nWorking Me
 n’s Club started life as the sound of singer and songwriter Syd Minsky-S
 argeant processing a teenage life in Todmorden in the Calder Valley\, writ
 ing and demoing in his bedroom\, the 18 year old lyricist was armed with a
  Korg Volca FM synthesiser\, a 1986-vintage Roland Rhythm TR-505 drum mach
 ine a MIDI sequencer\, and a battered MacBook Pro laptop.\n\nThe self-titl
 ed debut was the album of that year\, a refreshing sonic and lyrical break
 through\, top to bottom rigour with influences between Krautpop\, Afrobeat
 \, jolting dancefloor energy and the sonics of Cabaret Voltaire. Sell out 
 tours TV appearances on ‘Later with Jools Holland’ Q Awards\, and Aim 
 Award nominations soon followed.\n\nAged 20\, he got up and out of the Val
 ley\, and follow up album ‘Fear Fear’ was Minsky-Sargeant’s empathet
 ic lyrical reach out following the pandemic of that year\, critically accl
 aimed across the board and with a UK chart place of #11 the album cemented
  Minsky Sargeant of one of the most exciting and intriguing songwriters an
 d frontmen of a generation. ‘Working Men’s Club’ rounded off their s
 econd album campaign with a sellout UK and European tour and mesmerizing s
 howstopper of a set at Glastonbury 2023.\n\nUGLY:\n\nOriginally hailing fr
 om Cambridge\, now residing in London - Ugly have been using downtime to c
 raft a sound true to their own. Fusing inspiration from various background
 s of Choral\, Post-Rock and the staples of the 60s/70s\, Ugly’s take on 
 the writing process is unique and constantly moving forward.\n\nTHEATRE:\n
 \nThere’s very little\, if anything\, known about the Limerick band\, TH
 EATRE\, who seem to be moving in the shadows of Ireland’s explosive musi
 c scene. The five piece\, made up of Dara\, Oscar\, Gerry and Sean\, have 
 whipped up a storm of excitement through their outstanding live shows\; go
 rgeous\, emotive melodies and the stunning vocals of lead singer\, Maeve. 
 Blending ethereal rock music with folk and shoegaze\, the music is underst
 ated yet feels timeless\, and their songs seem to enter your body\, trance
 -like\, and never leave. Despite the spotlight shining so heavily on Irish
  music at the moment\, they have spent a year writing and building their l
 ive set and have quietly become the ones to look out for on any line up. N
 ow breaking their silence and set to release their first single ’The Fal
 l’ the tension is certainly rising and there is a sense that finally\, a
 ll will be revealed.\n\nTANZANA:\n\nGlasgow 5 piece Tanzana formed at the 
 start of 2023. They create trip-hop influenced alternative rock music and 
 have been performing consistently on the Glasgow scene\, from supporting L
 ucia at SWG3’s Galvanisers venue\, to hosting their first club night at 
 King Tuts in the summer of 2025\, Tanzana are creating a distinctive sound
  to compliment the vibrant Glasgow scene. When asked what they want their 
 music to do\, they replied"\n\n… We want our music to be a catalyst\, un
 earthing the creativity and self-expression in listeners…\n\n1000 RABBIT
 S:\n\n1000 Rabbits. grooving\, confessional art rock. Grounded by playful 
 bass synthesiser\, expressive vocal lines weave through a colourful tapest
 ry of violin\, guitar and drums\, creating something immediate and immersi
 ve: rhythm-forward\, emotionally raw\, and built for bodies in motion. Com
 prising Laura (violin)\, Liv (synthesiser)\, Paolo (guitar)\, River (vocal
 s) and Luke (drums)\, the five-piece cut their teeth across London’s ind
 ependent venues\, becoming regulars at The Windmill in Brixton where their
  high-voltage performances earned them a reputation as local “powerhouse
 s”\n\nMAX WINTER:\n\nWinter is a talented multidisciplinary musician \, 
 a composition graduate from the prestigious Trinity Laban conservatoire . 
 Having recently toured as the guitarist in Nourished By Time’s live band
  as well as being one third of thredd\, Winter continues to turn his atten
 tions to his solo output.\n\nMARSY:\n\nMarsy are a London based five piece
  that combine effortless songwriting with timeless melodies. Yet to releas
 e any music online\, catching them at various shows across the UK has hand
 ed audiences fortunate enough to see them a taster of what is set to be a 
 special 2025. For fans of Angel Olsen\, Broadcast and Jessica Pratt.\n\nBE
