DESCRIPTION:If My Memory Serves Me Well is a new series of musical events c
 urated by Imvemnyama\, exploring South African music through particular la
 nguages\, traditions\, histories and encounters that have shaped the music
  we hear today. A Xhosa Songbook\, presented in collaboration with Wits XC
 US\, turns to isiXhosa\, Imvemnyama’s home language. It is not simply a 
 celebration of music by Xhosa people\, but an exploration of music in isiX
 hosa\, and the fascinating ways in which language\, place\, identity and m
 usical belonging intersect. Through live performance\, arrangement and sto
 rytelling\, the programme moves between traditional songs\, hymns\, choral
