 ities. The year they arrived on scene\, they won over just about everyone:
  buttoned-up jazz fans\, hip-hop heads\, pop fans—you name it. Then\, of
  course\, came the GRAMMY Awards nominations for 2022’s NOT TiGHT \, the
 ir debut record released by the iconic Blue Note Records in partnership wi
 th Anderson .Paak’s APESHIT\, Inc. label. They were touted as the Gen Z 
 ambassadors for jazz... up until they seemingly vanished.\n\nWhat happened
 ? Well\, the answer comes in the form of their sophomore album\, WHO ASKED
 ?\n\nSomehow both simpler and more complex than their debut\, this album w
 as two years in the making\, born entirely from the duo’s home studio in
  Dallas\, Texas. “This time around we felt like we had a pretty sharp id
 ea of what we wanted the album to be before even starting\,” say DOMi & 
 JD BECK. “We wanted it orchestral\, fully written out before even playin
 g one note\, with stronger songwriting intentions but just as crazy playin
 g-wise and harmony-wise. We just wanted every note to mean something\, and
  nothing left to chance.”\n\nThere are no big features on the album save
  for a small sinfonietta of seasoned classical players. What you hear—li
 terally\, as their voices also feature in their music for the first time
 —is all DOMi and JD BECK. You could almost call it chamber pop\, if you 
 multiplied the notes and destabilised the time signatures. Indietronica ro
 oted in jazz with flourishes of hippie\, flower-child freedom.\n\nTurns ou
 t\, their disappearance was not much of one\, after all. They were just lo
 cked in\, as they always are\, to the music. Going back on the road\, here
 ’s a chance for fans to encounter this duo’s brilliance live in techni
