SUMMARY:Vivaldi's Four Seasons at Christmas by Candlelight
LOCATION:Paisley Abbey
DESCRIPTION:This experience is brought to you by Candlelight Concerts. Thi
s concert is not affiliated with the Fever Original Candlelight series.\nS
eats are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis within each band.\n\
 nHandel – Overture to Messiah\nCorelli – Christmas Concerto\nTorelli
 – Christmas Concerto\nBach – Violin Concerto in A minor\n\nTonight’s
programme celebrates Christmas through the elegance and brilliance of the
Baroque era\, with a selection of beautifully crafted festive masterpiece
s.\n\nOpening the programme is the overture from Handel’s Messiah\, whos
e opening section centres on the prophecy and birth of Christ\, making it
one of the defining sounds of the Christmas repertoire. Corelli’s Christ
mas Concerto\, written “for the night of Christmas”\, and Torelli’s
Christmas Concerto both capture the spirit of Christmas night\, with music
that suggests the shepherds of the Nativity and the stillness of the scen
e.\n\nCompleting the programme is Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons\, a dazzlin
g set of concertos that remains one of the most famous and vivid works in
all classical music. Each concerto paints a different season in sound\, dr
awing on accompanying poems — possibly written by Vivaldi himself — to
bring the natural world vividly to life. Across the four concertos\, Viva
ldi conjures birdsong and buzzing flies\, harvest celebrations\, barking d
 ogs\, summer storms and winter ice.\n\nBoletos: https://feverup.com/m/6796
