DESCRIPTION:Ballet is an ambient/experimental performance showcase based in
  Brooklyn\, NY. This curation includes the US debut presentation of buttec
 hno’s endless Xpire\, Klein’s singular melding of noise and R&B\, saxo
 phonist Matana Roberts’ improvisational genius\, and Significant Other
 ’s debut live set via forthcoming audiovisual work.\n\nbuttechno's sonic
  identity is built on spacious\, dystopian\, and wonky reflections on tech
 no that explore the liminal spaces between rhythm and texture. His product
 ions feature rhythmic cells ranging from strict to rubbery\, lending direc
 tion to blue\, ruminating\, and post-apocalyptic voids and creating sounds
 capes that mirror expansive barrenness and urban desolation. This approach
  has earned him recognition for providing "spastic electronics and firebal
 l ballistics" at major festivals and legendary clubs.\n\nKlein is an artis
 t and musician whose work often blurs the lines between fact and fiction. 
 Her music releases\, films\, and performances are often informed by urban 
 mapping\, surveillance\, humor\, hip-hop\, noise\, identity\, and beyond. 
 Her work has been shown and/or performed at museums\, galleries\, yards\, 
 squats\, and pubs.\n\nMatana Roberts [they/them] is a dynamic instrumental
 ist and multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores the mystical root
 s and intuitive\, spirit-raising traditions of American creative expressio
 n. Their innovative work has forged new conceptual approaches to consideri
 ng narrativity\, history\, and political expression within improvisatory s
 tructures.\n\nSignificant Other\, a UK-born DJ\, producer\, and curator no
 w based in Berlin\, has carved out a distinctive space in the electronic m
 usic landscape with his emotionally resonant productions and genre-resista
 nt style of DJing. Consistently operating at the fringes\, his creative ou
 tput is an at-times chaotic fusion of the tough and more tender corners of
  modern dance music. Over the years\, he has garnered a cult reputation fo
 r his take on the sludgier\, atmospheric ends of contemporary mood-driven 
 electronic music\, including through his record label and Berlin event ser
 ies Pain Management\, an anti-dancefloor outlet for outsider sounds spanni
 ng spoken word\, hellish dub experimentation\, and avant-garde electronica
 : “body music for restless minds.”\n\nDURATIONS Festival is a week-lon
 g\, multi-disciplinary exploration of sound and connection. Now in its fif
 th iteration\, the festival’s programming is its most robust yet\, with 
 seven days of music\, talks\, audiovisual work taking place between Public
  Records\, Pioneer Works\, Roulette\, and Whitney Museum of American Art.
