DESCRIPTION:Between 1992 and 1999\, Glasgow indie legends The Yummy Fur wer
 e an energetic mix of angular riffs\, super-short songs and biting social 
 commentary. Consisting of lead singer and guitarist John McKeown and a reg
 ularly changing line-up of other musicians (including future members of Fr
 anz Ferdinand)\, the band were favourites of John Peel and recorded two Pe
 el Sessions\, as well three albums.\n\nIn 2019 Rock Action put out Piggy W
 ings\, a compilation of their best 7” and album tracks. The band have si
 nce reformed to play with a line up featuring original members John McKeow
 n\, Paul Thomson (Franz Ferdinand)\, Brian McDougall and Dino Bardot (1990
 s / Franz Ferdinand).\n\nSupport from Pete Fij\n\nRenowned for his unmista
 kable voice and wry lyrical touch\, Pete Fij(alkowski) is back with fresh 
 solo material\, unveiling songs that brim with melody\, wit and understate
 d charm. Pete first burst onto the scene in the early 90s as the frontman 
 and guitarist of post- shoegaze / pre-Britpop band Adorable\, whose 1993 a
 lbum Against Perfection\, released on Creation Records\, is regularly refe
