 ging from the Midwest US rave scene\, she made history in 2016 by becoming
  the first woman to win Mixmag's DJ of the Year award.\n\nA Kentucky nativ
 e\, Marea began her career in the late 1990s\, selling mixtapes from the b
 oot of her car before becoming a resident DJ and the first woman to serve 
 as music curator at Chicago's legendary Smartbar. Her career has since tak
 en her to the stages of the world's leading festivals and to high-profile 
 collaborations with major pop artists. In 2020\, she gained widespread acc
 laim for curating and remixing Club Future Nostalgia\, Dua Lipa's acclaime
 d remix album\, which featured contributions from icons including Madonna 
 and Missy Elliott. She is also the voice and central figure behind "Marea 
 (We've Lost Dancing)"\, the track that marked Fred again..'s international
  breakthrough.\n\nIn 2024\, she released her long-awaited debut studio alb
 um\, Godspeed\, featuring collaborations with Kylie Minogue\, The Joy and 
 Clementine Douglas. Beyond her musical career\, she runs her own record la
 bel\, We Still Believe\, and is an outspoken advocate for social justice\,
