DESCRIPTION:This course supports participants in continuing their re-accred
 itation as a MHFAider.\n\nYour instructor is Pip Cameron has been deliveri
 ng MHFA courses since 2017.\n\nPip has delivered this course and other cou
 rses to corporate and non-corporate clients such as Ashurst\, ODPP\, Globa
 l Medical Solutions\, Blooms the Chemist\, MetLife\, Revlon\, Chanel\, Sma
 rtEnergy\, Penrith City Council\, Climate Change & Sustainability | Depar
 tment of Climate Change\, Energy\, the Environment and Water\; Australian 
 Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority and many more.\n\nPip delive
 rs this course in a safe space as a mental health first aid conversation. 
  We will work together to provide participants with the opportunity to eng
 age and learn through the quality skills required to be a MHFAider.\n\nPip
  has years of lived experience and delivers this course with humility and 
 a willingness to learn from participants.  Pip will demonstrate kindness\,
  patience\, non-judgemental listening skills so her participants will comp
 lete this course knowing the importance of looking after our own mental he
 alth and needs\, whilst being there for others and demonstrating acceptanc
 e and understanding.  \n\nParticipants will discuss and revise the signs a
 nd symptoms of the most common mental health conditions\, how to recognise
  and respond to an emerging or worsening mental health condition and the t
 reatments and supports available.\n\nParticipants will revise:\n\n*   how 
 to intervene early\;\n*   respond in a crisis\;\n*   offer support\;\n*   
 reduce stigma\;\n*   improve knowledge\; and\n*   improve confidence.\n\nW
 e will revise:\n\n*   depression\;\n*   anxiety\;\n*   psychosis\;\n*   su
 bstance use\;\n*   suicidal thoughts and behaviours\;\n*   panic attacks\;
 \n*   non suicidal self-injury\; and\n*   traumatic events.\n\nAdults who 
 complete the course become re-accredited as a Mental Health First Aider (M
 HFAider)\, equipped with the knowledge\, confidence and skills to provide 
 someone with mental health information and support when it matters most.\n
 \nComplete a short assessment in your own time at the end of the course to
  become re-accredited.  Accreditation is valid for a further three years.
 \n\nThis course is suitable for individuals\, workplaces of all sizes and 
 volunteer and community-based groups.  Any adult aged 18+ can attend who i
 s already an existing MHFAider and continuing their accreditation.\n\nI ho
