  the Author David Proudlove is the author of six books including Ballad of
  the Streets \, Work and Play: The Industrial Roots of English Football \,
  and A Mother Town Anthology. His latest is Street Football: The Real Gras
 sroots of the Beautiful Game. For more than a decade he wrote a weekly col
 umn for the Sentinel \, and his work has also appeared in the Birmingham D
 ispatch \, and Tribune . He was also a regular contributor to former Stoke
  City magazine Duck \, and today\, produces content for Football Heritage
