 n Northampton on Sat\, Oct 10.Pete Fij first made his name in the early 19
 90s as the singer and guitarist of Adorable\, the Creation Records band wh
 ose acclaimed 1993 album Against Perfection became an indie cult classic. 
 Praised by artists including Noel Gallagher\, Slowdive\, and The Brian Jon
 estown Massacre\, Adorable enjoyed chart success and widespread critical r
 ecognition before disbanding. Fij later formed Polak with his brother Krzy
 s\, earning further praise for his songwriting\, with The Independent desc
 ribing him as “the most gifted lyricist since Jarvis Cocker last put pen
  to paper.” Following a period away from music\, he returned alongside H
 ouse of Love guitarist Terry Bickers\, releasing two highly regarded album
 s and receiving accolades from BBC 6 Music\, MOJO\, Uncut and Q. A short-l
 ived Adorable reunion in 2019 saw the band sell out venues larger than tho
 se they played during their original run.Now\, after another hiatus and a 
 major personal reset\, Pete Fij has returned with a renewed sense of optim
 ism and energy. Drawing on experiences that included working in a care hom
 e during the pandemic and as a funeral celebrant\, he has embraced a brigh
 ter\, more uplifting sound that blends his signature dream-pop influences 
 with elements of pop and electronica. Signed to Tip Top Recordings\, he is
  preparing to release his new album\, Up's The New Down\, in September 202
 6\, preceded by singles including Love's Coming Back\, Cuckoo\, and Don't 
 Bring Me Sunshine. Throughout it all\, his rich baritone voice—often com
 pared to Lee Hazlewood\, Lou Reed and Richard Hawley—remains as distinct
 ive and compelling as ever.Supports are Northampton stalwarts JOY DISPOSAL
