 to Oxford! She plays an intimate\, solo show on Tues 29th Sept at the olde
 st music hall in Europe - the Holywell Music Rooms.Over the last three dec
 ades\, Kristin Hersh’s prolific career has seen her heralded as queen of
  the alternative release via her bands Throwing Muses and 50 Foot Wave. To
 day she shares brand new single ‘Sundial’\, a dark\, quietly haunting 
 song offering the first glimpse of new music with a full album to follow l
 ater this year. Heading out this Spring for another extensive Throwing Mus
 es US tour\, Kristin will then return to the UK and Europe for a solo tour
  in support of the new record this Autumn and we're happy she's back in Ox
 ford after dazzling us over the past few years.Sparse and atmospheric\, ne
 w track ‘Sundial’ unfolds slowly around Hersh’s voice\, with cello b
 ringing a low\, shadowed undercurrent to a track that feels both intimate 
 and elusive. The song circles around the strange\, lasting connections for
 med between musicians\, and how certain sounds or moments can suddenly bri
 ng someone back into focus. Hersh traces the idea to something she’s oft
 en noticed when collaborating : “Musicians’ heartbeats align right bef
 ore they start a song together. Real musicians\, anyway... This is a measu
 rable phenomenon\, but no one has measured how long our hearts keep beatin
