 ted poets\, Helen Mort and Kim Moore.Helen will be speaking about her newe
 st release Stepmother\, a bold and inventive prose-poetry collection inspi
 red by a new relationship which cast her in the role of stepmother. Blendi
 ng verse and personal essay\, fairytales with stories of modern blended fa
 mily\, the book is a playful observation of an often-neglected dimension o
 f female experience. Helen will be in conversation with Kim Moore\, whose 
 latest collection The House of Broken Things is an unflinching exploration
  of motherhood\; in Kim's poetry\, motherhood becomes a spell\, a terrible
  power\, an intelligence\, a transformative force laden with complexity an
 d ambivalence. Bios:Helen Mort lives in Sheffield. She is the author of fo
 ur poetry collections with Chatto & Windus and her work has been shortlist
 ed for the Forward Prize and the T.S. Eliot Prize. Other publications incl
 ude a novel\, 'Black Car Burning' and a memoir about motherhood and mounta
 ineering\, 'A Line Above The Sky'\, which won the Boardman Tasker Prize fo
 r mountain literature. She is a Professor of Creative Writing at Mancheste
 r Metropolitan and a Fellow of the RSL.Kim Moore’s third poetry collecti
 on The House of Broken Things was published by Corsair in May 2026. Her se
 cond collection All the Men I Never Married (Seren\, 2021) won the 2022 Fo
 rward Prize for Best Collection. Her first collection The Art of Falling (
 Seren 2015) won the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize. She also writes non-fic
 tion\, publishing What the Trumpet Taught Me (Smith/Doorstop\, 2022) and A
 re You Judging Me Yet? Poetry and Everyday Sexism (Seren\, 2023). She is a
  Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Manchester Metropolitan University
  and Deputy Programme Leader of the MA and MFA in Creative Writing. Event
